Ore Ska Band (オレスカバンド, Oresukabando) is an all-female ska band from Sakai, Japan. I picked up their (relatively) new album WAO!! today while shopping in Nagoya.

Now while I'm by no means an expert on Japanese ska, I do know my fair share of bands, (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Kemuri, Potshot, etc.) and my non-expert opinion is that Ore Ska Band is one of the best Japanese bands I've ever heard.

So, you want to know what makes them awesome? Well let's see, for starters, they are an all-girl band, and all play ACTUALLY play their respective instruments (a dissapointingly rare trait for Japanese bands). Let's see... what else... Oh yeah, how many times have you seen someone playing a pink trombone? So now you've watched the video, and you're thinking "wtf? they aren't Japanese schoolgirls, where are the sailor uniforms I love to fap to?". Unfortunately for you, they wear boy's school uniforms in all of their videos, which immediately makes them better than all of the other all-girl bands / groups in Japan who whore themselves out to get CD sales. Still not convinced they rock? Don't worry about it, you're just an idiot.

As far as WAO!! goes, despite being short (just over 50 minutes), it's loaded with 13 tracks (plus a hidden track OMG!!) which are guaranteed to have you jumping out of your chair and skanking to the beat.
